Product Name: HMG (Human Menopausal Gonadotrophin)
Product Ingredients: Highly Purified Menotrophin
HMG includes the combination of the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). FSH and LH are naturally produced in the pituitary gland by the hypothalamus. These hormones are critical for ovulation and for the improvement of quality and motility of sperm. HMG helps developing mature follicles in woman with low hormone levels, thus making the ovaries ready to ovulate. Afterwards one dose of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is administrated to stimulate the ovulation. HMG also stimulates the formation of sperm in men with low testosterone and FSH level. LH promotes the production of testosterone, restores normal testicular function and sperm count.
HMG treatment results in pregnancy of 60% of women.
HMG is indicated for stimulation of ovulation in case when female ovaries are able to produce a follicle but hormonal stimulation is deficient. The drug might be used after inefficiency of other fertility drugs like clomiphene. It is also indicated in case if the patient experiences luteal phase defects, polycystic ovarian syndrome, or an unexplained fertility problem. If the patient is undergoing an assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatment like in vitro fertilization (IVF), HMG stimulates the development of multiple egg follicles for the procedure.
The drug is prescribed for promoting the production of sperm in men with functioning testes but also with hormonal imbalance linked to a low sperm count, motility and poor sperm quality.
